Back to School Time...It's Not Just for Kids!

Where did the summer go?  Here in this part of Texas, we are dangerously close to the kids heading back to school (and college!).  If you listen closely, you can hear the collective sigh of relief from parents everywhere.
But as the kiddos are busy getting their school supplies together, getting back on a normal sleep schedule, and bemoaning the HORRIBLENESS OF IT ALL, the excitement is still building.  Because no matter how much going back to school stinks, it's kind of fun, too.  The anticipation of learning something new and meeting new people is pretty great, right? Well, take heart moms and dads!  When the school bus pulls away on Monday, you don't have to be relegated to watching re-runs of Judge Judy all day.  (Or doing boring old housework.  Yuck!)  You, too, can go back to school!  No, I'm not referring to college, or even anything REMOTELY related.  This is your opportunity to learn something that you love...or something that you know nothing about, but you've always wanted to learn.   Tap into your creative side, and let it shine!  San Antonio and Schertz are full of great resources for you! The only prerequisite for any of these classes is a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.  Put your inhibitions aside, and get to it!

Interested in taking a dance class?  The city of San Antonio offers VERY affordable dance classes.  Starting next week, they have Spanish Flamenco and Mexican Folklorio!  Click HERE for more information.

Have a hankering to make a crocheted beaded necklace?  Have you always wanted to make your own greeting cards?  Head on over to the Barshop Jewish Community Center, where they have all kinds of classes for people of ALL ages (and ALL religions!), at affordable rates. Heck, you can even learn Israeli Dancing while you're there!  Shalom! Click HERE for more information.

If you've always wanted to learn to decorate your own cakes (What a way to save money!), Michael's Crafts offers many cake decorating classes!  They also offer scrapbooking, knitting, and much, much more.  Click HERE for more information.

Want to bring out your inner Julia Child? Many places offer great cooking classes, and these classes normally include the meal you are cooking, too.  So bring your hubby or wife along, and consider it a date! Sur la Tab offers a variety of classes including Basic Knife Skills, which understandably very popular.  Who doesn't want to chop onions like the people on Top Chef?!  Central Market also offers a variety of classes to choose from, so you can be an expert at whatever dish you love best!  Click HERE for information on Sur la Table, and HERE for information on Central Market.

If none of these classes interest you or if paying for a class is really out of your budget, take heart.  You can still organize your own class!  Find someone who has the skill that you want to learn and invite a group to your home to learn from that person.  If you aren't sure how to get started finding a group of people with similar interests, check out MeetUp.com, HERE.

However you decide to tap into your creative side, GOOD LUCK from The Claus Team!
