Octo-Beer Feast

One of the newest (and fastest moving) trends in the "food world" is the emergence of food trucks.  That's right--eating food from a truck is suddenly very cool.  If you think eating from a truck would involve hot dogs and other tired street fare, THINK AGAIN.  Today's food trucks offer a wide variety of gourmet delicacies, environmentally conscious eats, and yes, even upgraded comfort food.  You can find anything from grass-fed organic bison burgers to wild truffle risotto to all sorts of Asian fusion cuisine.  There's also a smorgasbord of desserts to choose from--think homemade organic ice cream, gourmet cupcakes or traditional Afghan baklava.  The options you can find at food trucks are seemingly endless.

Well, GOOD NEWS San Antonians!  Did you know that we have our very own Mobile Vending Truck "Park"?  That's right.  Thursday through Sunday each week, the Boardwalk on Bulverde has all you could want and more.  There are food trucks that offer tasty treats for any palate.

For example, each night, The Rickshaw Stop serves up traditional Pakistani street food, and it's AH-MAZING.

Saweet Cupcakes is always there with a smattering of lovely cupcakes, all delicious enough to make you want one (or ten) more!

There are tons of more trucks there each night, all serving up something tasty.  The venue is VERY informal.  Come with your kids (there is a swing set!).  Come with your dog.  Best of all?  You can bring your own beer!  That's right--bring your family, a comfy chair (because trust me--it gets crowded, and you might need it!), and a cooler of your favorite brew, and you are set for the night.  Except on Fridays, because Friday is FREE BEER NIGHT. 

Make sure to follow them on Facebook or check their website, because they have plenty of events there, as well.  They show most football games, have movie nights a few times a week, and frequently have live music or a DJ!

And this weekend?  Head on over for Octo-Beer Feast, which runs from Friday through Sunday, 11:00AM until 11:00PM.  It's sure to be a great time, and as usual, entrance to the park is FREE! There will be tons of food, a moon bounce for the kids, a rock climbing wall, a DJ, and much more!
